Since 1986, Aiken has been designated a Tree City USA, because of its commitment to urban forestry management. The show piece for the city is South Boundary Avenue. The overarching live oaks give this street its distinctive look and appeal. For a very long time I avoided photographing it. Then I started driving down it most days on my way to and from work. So, I decided to look for unique angles and features most people might overlook as the cruise by. I also take this attitude when exploring the other places near Downtown Aiken.
